Scrapping Heritage Photos using Patterned Paper

My sister has asked me to make her some pre-made pages to start a Heritage scrapbook. She says she won't be picky, anything that I do she loves and would be proud to put in her book. She has done some amazing research into our ancestors and wants to get it organized. I haven't done many heritage pages except for my own pages where I had the photos and made the pages around the odd size photos. She likes the way I use patterned paper on the photo mats on my pre-made pages. I use the patterned paper on premade scrapbook pages so the purchaser can crop their photos if they like or use standard size photos and both look great on the mats. Many of our family old photos are not a standard size that will fit a 4x6 mat. But I think I can make her some nice pages with layered patterned paper photo mats that will work with her old photos. The other thing that I will do is to make the pages and use lots of patterned paper and ribbon for the background and not put any photo mats on the page and send her the matching cardstock and she can cut the mats to fit the photos. I can' wait to get started. But, I have to finish this baby book first....
