If you haven't already checked out the
Cuttlebug Challenge Blog and Betty Bee's Buzz blog get on over there now and see what's up for September. There is still time to do the September Challenge #47.
My theme is Pirate Princess Party.
I used all three of the Cricut cartridges that I currently own. The font on the front of the invitation is Plantin Schoolbook. Using Real Dial Size and the size at 1/2" on both words, I cut PIRATE using the Shadow function button. PRINCESS was cut using the Tall Ball function key.
I used Accent Essentials to cut the pink envelope and the lining inside. The patterned paper is made by Rusty Pickle.
I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge to cut the pink Pirate treasure map on the front of the invitation. Also used for the skull and cross bones. See the tiny 1/2" skull and crossbone in the bottom corner of the invitation, it has plenty of detail even cut that small.
I used my computer to print the inside of the invitation, inked the edges using Close to My Heart black ink and added the skull and crossbones.
When I first got my Cricut I had alot of problems trying to cut 1/2" letters. After reading several blogs, I decided to change the blade that came in the new Cricut Expression. Guess what, I can cut 1/2" now and the fonts and shapes are perfect.
The background paper for the photo is from Rusty Pickle and is called Pirate Princess.
